Dear CODEPINK,

Imagine you're a keynote speaker at a conference outside the country, and you're not allowed to attend because that country's government won't let you speak the truth.

Shahzad Akbar was invited to speak at our Drone Summit in DC and the US government won't grant him a visa.

Shahzad is the co-founder of the Foundation for Fundamental Rights and is the main Pakistani lawyer providing legal aid to victims of CIA-operated drone strikesHe applied for a visa in May 2011 but was never given a response.

One year later, he is still waiting. Apparently the US government thinks its secret drone program is above the law.

Send a letter to Consul General Steve Maloney in Pakistan and let him know that Shahzad should not be denied the ability to travel to the United States and share the stories of his Pakistani clients.

Then register to join us in Washington, DC April 28-29 for Drone Summit: Killing and Spying by Remote Control to educate and mobilize the US public to rein in these killer and spy drones.

We have a great line up of speakers including human rights activists, drone resisters and journalists. This ground-breaking summit will set the stage for an international campaign to rein in drone use.

And don't forget to buy Medea Benjamin's new book Drone Wafare: Killing by Remote Control.

Sincerely,
Alli, Farida, Janet, Jodie, Kristen, Magda, Medea, Nancy, Rae, Ramah, Sharon and Tighe

PS Join us in Chicago May 17-20 to protest the NATO meeting.
