Dear Activist,

Last week, CODEPINK co-founder and protector of the planet, Diane Wilson, along with her long-time friend Bob Lindsey, were arrested for locking themselves to trucks at the Valero factory, which has made the largest commitment to tar sands from Keystone XL. Will you support them?

In a show of solidarity, CODEPINK has taken a stand with members of the Houston, Texas community who are actively protesting the construction of a Keystone XL pipeline in the area. This is a dangerous and harmful project that would pump over one million barrels of dirty "tar sands" oil into the U.S. every day. The oil in this pipeline could threaten to poison drinking water and wreck the climate, causing harm to the communities it runs through as well as the atmosphere.

BUT there's good news: the Keystone XL pipeline cannot be built without a "presidential permit" from the Obama Administration.

After spending nearly a week in a jail cell built for 23 women that held over 60 women, Diane has been bailed out and is continuing her sustained hunger strike to demand that the Valero factory divest entirely from this dangerous project and invest that money into the health and well-being of the people of Manchester. This is just one of the brave actions that has been taken to stop the construction of the harmful pipeline.

WE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR SUPPORT: You can support Diane and Bob and help further the cause for cleaner air and a healthier environment in many way!Here's how:



1) THIS WEDNESDAY: Please join Diane Wilson, Bob Lindsey, members of Tar Sands Blockade, Texas Environmental Justice Advocacy Services, the Texas Jail Project, and CODEPINK tomorrow for a Solidarity Noise Demo outside the Harris County Jail. We will be demonstrating to protests the inhumane conditions that Diane and Bob were kept under and the conditions that many people face every day inside the Harris County Jail. We will stand in solidarity with the approximately 65,000 people--mothers, fathers, brothers, sons, sisters, and daughters--who are incarcerated in inhumane Texas county jails. Bring signs, orange jump-suits, pots and pans, and lots of love and solidarity!

2) Send a letter of solidarity to Diane Wilson and support her hunger strike via email to Rue of the Tar Sands Blockade.

3) Can't make it to Houston? Join our Facebook page, where you can find suggestions for ways to show your support from wherever you are, such as a fasting in solidarity or posting a photo with your message!

4) Sign on to the 350.org petition calling President Obama to step up and help stop the destruction of our climate.
