April 4, 2012

Dear [[supporter.First_Name]],

OK, this message isn't coming directly from Michelle Obama, but it's close. That's because last Friday, at Michelle Obama's fundraiser in San Francisco, CODEPINK activist Kristin Hull handed the First Lady the 20,000 signatures you signed calling for No War on Iran. Kirsten asked, “Will you use your leadership to prevent an attack on Iran?” Michelle thanked Kristin for her advocacy and said, “Keep up the great work.”  Then Michelle grabbed her hand, squeezed it and said, “We really need you.”

Today we are moving a step further.
We are launching a new site online,
www.weloveiran.org, where people from Iran will be able to see you and your message, and we've made it super easy. Just upload a photo of you (or you and your family, your friends, your pets--get creative), add the "Iranians We Love You" banner, post it and share it with your friends.

This campaign was started by an Israeli father who posted his image to facebook - within 24 hours Iranians responded with similar images of love, and now it's gone viral.
Will you add your pic?

We'll select our favorite 50 images and project them on the State Department on April 13, when the six world powers resume talks with Iran in Istanbul.

We'd like to continue to grow our petition, alongside the petitions of
Iranian and Israeli women, and hope to hand deliver it to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton next. If you haven't signed yet, please sign this petition today. Help it grow by sharing it with your friends.

Michelle was right, we need a vibrant peace movement in the US that uses creative tactics to stop the next war.  If you feel the same way, please
make a donation to support us to take this campaign to the next level.

Yours,
Alli, Farida, Janet, Jodie, Kristen, Magda, Medea, Nancy, Rae, Ramah, Sharon, Tighe and Yumi

PS: Have you heard about our upcoming Drone Summit?  It's in DC on the weekend of April 28-29. Chris Woods from The Bureau of Investigative Journalism will be joining us. His groundbreaking investigations in Pakistan and Yemen belie CIA claims that its drones strikes are not killing civilians. The Summit is only 3 weeks away so register now.
