 Congratulations
to Deidra Lynch --
she gathered the most pledges to Whip Congress into Shape in September
and won our grand prize: a week at the CODEPINK
house in DC! Deidra is thrilled to return to the CODEPINK
house--her last stay was deeply inspiring and energizing--and we
are thrilled to have her back. Deidra embodies the CODEPINK
spirit; she has done an amazing job organizing the peace movement
in her home state through the Focus
on Nelson campaign, and we know this prize will lead
to more fabulous and fruitful action.
 Now
it's your chance to win a trip to DC -- and, more importantly, prevent
war with Iran.Pledge
to Stop the Next War Now and then pass your personal
website address along to friends and family and encourage them to
pledge, as well. The person who inspires the most pledges this month
will win our grand prize.
As
the drumbeats for war with Iran grow ever louder and our lawmakers
pass legislation that clears the way for an imminent attack, we
feel a great urgency to do whatever we can to stop this belligerence
in its tracks.
 Each
week in October, we will send a simple action you can do to keep
us out of Iran. This week, we are asking you to connect with your
heart.
 Download
our Don't Bomb Iran pendant featuring photos of Iranian
children on the front and information about stopping war on the
back. Put it on a string or chain and choose at least one day this
week (and every week in October) to wear the necklace to remind
others of the humanity of the Iranian people. Iran is not a faceless,
evil entity as the media would like you to believe, but a country
full of families terrified of a potential US attack. When you connect
with your own heart and your heartache over the prospect of war,
you can reach others' hearts as well. How can we even think of bombing
these people after we've seen their sweet, open faces?
In
the coming weeks, you will have opportunities to reach out from
your heart and connect with your community and other CODEPINKers
and your lawmakers to prevent war. Thank you for pledging to Stop
