December 21, 2007

Dear CODEPINKer,

The Grinches are at it again. They sit up on Capitol Hill, their hearts two sizes too small in their chests, as they hand the head Grinch another $70 billion blank check for war.

Last year, we were so hopeful that Congress would bring the troops home in time for the 2007 holidays. We grieve for all the military families who won't be able to celebrate with their loved ones this year (and for the 3,895 military families who will never get to celebrate with their loved ones again, as well as the families of the estimated 1 million Iraqis who have lost their lives as a result of the occupation).

Send your Rep this holiday Grinch card to express how heartbroken you are about their decision to mark the holidays with more war.

And remember, just because Congress has funded Bush's war doesn't mean you have to. By joining our Don't Buy Bush's War tax resistance campaign and withholding 7% of your taxes, you will be giving a strong rebuke to Congress and the administration. You can also show your opposition to Congress by supporting our campaign to aid Iraqi women and children. Thanks to you, we just sent $10,000 to displaced Iraqi widows and orphans. It is not too late to donate, either in your name, or in someone else's as a meaningful holiday gift.
