Dear
CODEPINKer,
We're
getting very excited about Mother's Day!
Imagine how beautiful it will be...mothers all around the
country, standing in parks, singing in town squares, marching
down streets, rising up together for peace. Julia Ward Howe,
who wrote the original
Mothers Day Proclamation in 1870, would be so proud.
Have
you made your plans yet?
There's still time to join us in Washington
DC May 10-14 as we educate, agitate and celebrate.
If you can't join us, click
here to see if there's an event planned in your
area: If not, create one yourself! The possibilities are endless--a
picnic in the park, a peace festival with local artists and
performers, a mothers' vigil, a house party with friends to
show our awesome
Mothers Day movie. For more inspiration, and to
post your event, click
here.
Now
is the time for mothers, for all concerned citizens, to be
visible.
Today, join with your community at the emergency veto rallies
sponsored either by United
for Peace and Justice or MoveOn.org.
Be sure to bring a loud, clear message: Don't
Buy Bush's War. You can also print up our Mother's
Day Appeal Sheets and gather signatures we will
deliver to Congress next week.
Thanks
for rising up with us!
In
sisterhood and love,
Dana,
Desiree, Farida, Gael, Gayle, Jodie, Liz, Lori, Medea, Melissa,
Midge, Nancy, Patricia, Rae, Samantha, and Sonia
P.S.
We hope you'll be able to join
us this summer at the US Social Forum in Atlanta
and our weekly
series of activist trainings in DC.
And or some inspiration, a
word from Utah Phillips.
