We give thanks for...

CODEPINK

November 27, 2013

Dear Activist,

We at CODEPINK are often asked: How do we stop from getting depressed and giving up? Our answer: community. It is you—our friends, our supporters, our colleagues, our allies—who keep us going.

At this time of gratitude, we would like to extend a special note of thanks to each one of you.

We're thankful for your calls to congress that prevented war on Syria, for funding solar lamps for Syrian women refugees. We're thankful for your protests against drone attacks, for pushing the administration to pursue diplomacy with Iran, for your efforts to stop Israeli settlements, for calling on our government to fund “life-affirming activities” instead of more weapons of war.

We're grateful that you value the lives of all people, and are horrified by this era of remote-controlled killing. We're grateful you helped send us to Pakistan and Yemen to meet with drone strike victims, and then brought those families here to tell their stories.

As our Yemeni delegation returns home, we thank them for sharing their painful experiences living under drones and we thank the media—including the New York Times —that helped spread their message.

It is your support and friendship that keeps us going. And it is all of us, together, who bend the arc of the moral universe towards justice.

Thanks for everything you do to create a world that values humanity and peace.

P.S. Don't forget to Occupy Black Friday and share our ideas.
