Don't Miss This Moment!

CODEPINK

September 5, 2013

Dear Supporter,

Tuesday Secretary of State John Kerry, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and General Dempsey defended violent military intervention in Syria to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for over four hours.

We were there and we listened to what they had to say (or didn't say)-- and we dissented. CODEPINK cofounder Medea Benjamin was arrested for telling Secretary Kerry, We don't want another war! Cruise missiles means another war!

Yesterday, the Committee voted in favor of the use of force in Syria, and the war apologists took to the stand again to defend their case to the House Foreign Relations Committee. CODEPINK was there to say, “You have blood on your hands. War creates violence, not peace.”

Tomorrow, FRIDAY, YOU can be on the right side of history.

Obama is seeking Congressional approval to use military force on Syria. Congress needs to hear from you, not just Obama and John Kerry. Take your talking points and visit your Congressperson this Friday. You won't be alone. A coalition of groups is putting out this same call.

Can't visit?
Send an email, tell your friends to send an email, tell them to tell their friends to send an email! Make a call to the Capitol 202-224-3121. They have to be reminded again and again that their constituency does not want this.  We know better.

Ceasefire and talks, not violent retaliation,
Alli, Amanda, Kelleen, Jodie, Medea, Nancy K, Nancy M, Noor, Roqayah, Sergei and Tighe
