Dear CODEPINKer,

When Jon Stewart was on Larry King's show talking about his Rally to Restore Sanity, he likened himself to Alice in Wonderland. Is Jon Stewart really Alice, trying to find sanity in an upside-down world? Or is he the March Hare, the ultimate slacktivist who thinks it's always teatime--time to sit back and jibberjabber? Well, we are firm believers that these upside-down times call for fearlessness and action.

According to the rallying call for restoring sanity, people who were so horrified when the U.S. invaded Iraq that they joined millions of others to protest are not sane. And we should definitely not shout and be outrageous when the Supreme Court rules that corporations are people and can pour unlimited funds into our elections. Ok, what?! Now, *that's* just crazy.

On Friday, 10/29, we will be out front of the US Chamber of Commerce in DC protesting the undisclosed funds being poured into Republican campaigns by the Chamber and groups like Karl Rove's American Crossroads. Our electoral system is FAR from perfect; however, allowing undisclosed funds to buy elections is sucking the life blood out of democracy.

On Saturday, 10/30, we'll be at the Rally to Restore Sanity in DC with our “War is Insane” message and Mad Hatter Tea Party along with our friends at US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation and others! Sign up now!

It's the sane people who protest crazy wars, who (wiki)leak the truth about occupation and insist that war should be an election issue, who cry out against the dangers of global warming, who rail against big money in politics, who implore our politicians to spend our resources rebuilding America, not bombing people overseas.

Thanks for bringing sanity to a crazy world,
Dana, Farida, Gayle, Janet, Jean, Joan, Jodie, Lisa, Medea, Nancy, Rae, Tighe and Valerie

P.S. Medea will be on the Daily Show this Thursday night -- read her article about the whole insane (yet entertaining) experience.
