Dear
CODEPINKer,
It's
almost time to start knocking!
This
Saturday, September 20th, tens
of thousands of Americans will be knocking on neighbors' doors
for peace. Won't
you join us?
It's simple to participate: sign
up online and you'll receive a list of your neighbors
who are new or spotty voters. It's up to you to decide how
many houses you want to visit or call by phone--we suggest at least
twenty. It's a great way to build the peace vote while getting
to know new neighbors.

to sign, click

No
matter who wins the election, the new president will be under tremendous
pressure to keep the troops in Iraq, widen the war in Afghanistan,
act tough with Iran and give unconditional support to Israel. We
need to play a countervailing force advocating negotiations and
diplomacy, not war. By building up the peace vote now, we
will be more likely to get a president committed to peace, and
we'll be laying the foundation for a strong anti-war movement
that can effectively pressure the next administration and the next
Congress.
So,
grab your friends, sign
up to get your walk sheet, print out our window
sign, put on your pink and
head out the door!
Flexing
our fingers and warming up our voices for Saturday,
Dana,
Deidra, Desiree, Farida, Gael, Gayle, Jean, Jodie, Liz, Lori, Medea,
Nancy, and Rae
PS.
When CODEPINK sent a delegation to
Gaza, we were dismayed by the suffering of the people, but inspired
by the grassroots leaders we met, including Dr. Eyad el-Serraj,
head of the Gaza Community Mental Health Program (GCMHP).
Dr. el-Serraj, who was imprisoned by both Israelis and Palestinians
for speaking out against human rights violations, has asked our
help in raising $50,000 to support the International Campaign to
End the Siege of Gaza.Click
here for details on the campaign and how to contribute.
