NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR WOMEN TO COMMEMORATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY WITH VARIOUS EVENTS THROUGHOUT SAN FRANCISCO
California NOW celebrates 101 years of International Women's Day on Thursday, March 8th with a benefit concert at Yoshi’s San Francisco Jazz Club.
The concert will be held to raise funds for two upcoming FREE rallies/festivals: Earth Day San Francisco and Peace Day San Francisco. Headline acts include: Janis Joplin's original band Big Brother & the Holding Company, PAMELA PARKER, Non Stop Bhangra and Mondo Loko. FREE music in the Lounge with Valerie Orth, Lela Caro, Ziva, Lindy LaFontaine, Nkechi and *bernadette*. Speakers included esteemed feminist Pat Maginnis. General Admission tickets are $35 and VIP Tickets are $99. Go purchase your tickets at www.FeministMusic.com or call 415-655-5600. Celebrated annually around the world, Women's Day has been celebrated on March 8 for 101 years. Event sponsors are: National Organization for Women, Planned Parenthood, Code Pink and the Bay Area Coalition for Reproductive Rights.
