President Obama is announcing an escalation in Afghanistan at West Point on Tuesday, December 1, 8 PM Eastern, and CODEPINKers around the country will respond! This list is alphabetical by name of CITY.

Atlanta, GA: Wednesday, December 2,4:30-6:30 PM, the Georgia Peace & Justice Coalition is initiating a "No Escalation! There Is No Military Solution! Bring the Troops Home NOW! protest Assemble at Freedom Park, the intersection of Moreland Ave and Freedom Parkway. Bangor, ME: Emergency Escalation Announcement protest at the Margaret Chase Smith Federal Building, 202 Harlow St., Bangor, Maine 5 PM on December 2. Pots and pans will be banged to wake up the sleeping American public!

Berkeley, CA: on Tuesday December 1, CODEPINK counter-recruitment activists and allies will protest at 3:30 PM, march to the BART station, then gather to watch the announcement at Tommy's Joynt in San Francisco. Contact: info@bayareacodepink.org.

Detroit, MI: Activists will gather at the Federal Building, 477 Michigan Ave., 4 PM, December 2.

Eugene, OR: Please join CALC and others at noon for a press conference on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza to protest the increase of troops in Afghanistan. Wear pink!
At the press conference, students, representatives from labor and the business community will talk about redirecting Lane County tax dollars spent on the Afghanistan war to creating jobs at home. The rally will be followed by a peace vigil at 4pm at the Old Federal Bldg, 7th and Pearl.

Honolulu, HI: YOU DON'T END A WAR BY SENDING MORE TROOPS! PROTEST/SIGNHOLDING on December 2, 4-6 PM, at the Federal Bldg, Ala Moana Blvd.

Indianapolis, IN: We call on all Hoosiers who disagree with the surge to join in an Emergency Response Protest on December 2, from 5 to 7 PM, at NE Corner of Fall Creek and Meridian with the demands: Bring all the troops home now! Funding for human needs, not war! MAKE NOISE, NOT WAR! Bring family, friends, signs and noisemakers as we get rowdy in the streets to voice our opposition. Las Vegas: CODEPINKERs protesting drones will gather at 3 PM at the Las Vegas Federal Building, 600 Las Vegas Blvd South, then at 5 PM will watch Obama on laptops at the Main Entrance of the Federal Bldg.
