International Women's Day and the 8th Anniversary of the Iraq Invasion
This year, CODEPINK honored 100 years
of International Women's Day (March 8) from
Sunday, March 6 through Saturday,
March 19. CODEPINK connected with women across the globe by participating in bridge marches and actions. We also mourned the 8th anniversary since the Iraq invasion (March 19) during March, and taking action to bring our war $$ home!
Again this year, CODEPINK partnered
with Women
for Women International in an
international “Join me on the
Bridge” campaign to link women
in war-torn countries with women the
world over.
On International Women's Day join or create a Bridge Walk
in your city on Tuesday, March
8th!
Spread the Word!
Get one of CODEPINKs own posters,
“For
a Safe America, Make Bridges
Not Enemies.” Bridges
bring together people and
lands that would otherwise
remain separate, sometimes
even in opposition.
Plan an Event:
Plan a women's bazaar or a teach-in event: gather
your friends and neighbors,
outreach to your community
and bring people together
around
an educational film or speaker,
and discussion, invite groups to table or sell women's crafts.
Join Conference Calls with
Women:
A series of conference calls
with women in war zones and
conflict regions will take place in March-April. Hear directly from activist
women on what inspires them
to take action. Check back soon for more
details
or email
CODEPINK.
On the 8th Anniversary of the Iraq Invasion, join local rallies, marches, and actions planned in your city.
