CODEPINK Joins the 2nd Anniversary of Occupy Wall Street Demonstrations

WHEN: Tuesday, September 17, 2013, 8:00am

WHERE: Zuccotti Park, New York, NY

(New York, NY) –– On September 17th, 2013 CODEPINK will join with other activists in New York to mark the 2nd anniversary of Occupy Wall Street at Zuccotti Park. The women's peace group known for Congressional hearing and political convention disruptions founded Women Occupy two years ago to create a safe space for women to organize for economic justice and equality. Members of CODEPINK will be at Zuccotti Park on the anniversary distributing anti-Bank of America pledge cards and “I heart 99%” stickers.

The second anniversary of Occupy Wall Street is as important as the first; the movement has made it two years, but college debt, monetary inequality, war and greed are still the norm. The second anniversary of Occupy Wall Street is an opportunity to get out of the comfort zone and hit the streets.

In 2011 CODEPINK launched WomenOccupy.org to support women in the Occupy movement and will be available this anniversary to create space for women to gather and share their concerns, ideas and stories. CODEPINK organizers who will be participating in the events tomorrow are available for interview, contact info is listed above.
