Leading up to the second month of the BP disaster, the week of June 14-19 will be choc full of protests in Washington, D.C. against BP/Big Oil and in support of clean energy. The actions are organized by many groups, including CODEPINK, Greenpeace, Public Citizen, Rainforest Action Network and Friends of the Earth. Representatives from the various groups are available for interview and each event will have great photo opportunities.

Tuesday, June 15, 9:30 a.m.
Where: 2123 Rayburn House Office Building
The Subcommittee on Energy and Environment will hold a hearing entitled "Drilling Down on America's Energy Future” with heads of ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, BP, and ConocoPhilips. Environmental activists will be there to say ‘There's no future in big oil.'

Wednesday, June 16, noon
Where:  White House, Lafayette Park side on Pennsylvania Ave.
BP reps will be meeting with President Obama at the White House. Activists will rally outside the White House to deliver the message that BP needs to "PAY UP" and to tell Obama that Americans want CLEAN ENERGY NOW.

Wednesday, June 16, 8 p.m.—until next morning
Where: Rally/press conference at BP headquarters 1101 New York Ave NW from 8pm-9pm and all-night camp-out outside the Rayburn Bldg
Top environmentalists and activists will speak outside of the BP HQ in DC, then march to the Rayburn Building (horseshoe) for an all-night “Stake Out.” We'll wait for BP CEO Tony Hayward who will be testifying at Congress on Thursday morning...

Thursday, June 17, 10am
Where: 2123 Rayburn House Office Building, Subcommittee on Energy hearing with BP CEO Tony Hayward. Activists will get out the message about BP's criminal activities and the need for Congress to hold oil companies accountable and ensure BP pays for the damage to the coast and American livelihoods.

Saturday, June 19, all day
Protests at BP gas stations all over the country. Marisa Tomei, Darryl Hannah, Q'orianka Kilcher, Ed Begley, along with concerned citizens across the country have taken a pledge to Boycott BP and take collective, creative action on June 19th.
