Ever want to connect with powerful women working for change around the country?  Feeling like you'd like to buff up your skills and talents?  CODEPINK is hosting a Women's Leadership Intensive at our Pink House in DC this summer.  By joining us in DC for a week, you'll have a hands on daily opportunity to put your passion for peace into action, and learn valuable skills applicable to your whole life!

WEEK SESSION DATE:

July 26-August 1 (Sunday-Saturday): PINK the halls of Congress in the final week before the month-long August recess!  Plus meet with CODEPINK cofounders and staff for a special pink strategy session and a dance party that would make Emma Goldman proud.

The week-long experience includes a final night celebration at DC's progressive restaurant, Bus Boys and Poets, with a PINK open mike to showcase the week's work and your new skills!

By joining CODEPINK in DC this summer for a week-long leadership intensive, you'll have the unique opportunity to live in the CODEPINK Activist House and organize daily peace actions with 15 other activists.  You will:

• Receive trainings from experienced CODEPINK organizers on how to effectively contact the media, how to plan a successful creative action, how to work effectively with a team and incorporate everyone's ideas and interests holistically, how to blog and create youtube and photo galleries online, and how to bring CODEPINK's feisty, audacious spirit and campaigns home to your city. 
  
• Hear from experts about the situation in Iraq, the legislative process in Congress, and other hot political topics. 
  
• Meet with DC activists and local organization and better understand the way to create a grassroots network, and the local cost of war. 
  
• Daily actions in the halls of Congress, in hearings, in representative and senate offices.
• Nightly meetings, skill shares, or expert speaker presentations.
• Weekly potluck at the CODEPINK house with ally organizations and DC activists.
• Most of all, you'll leave feeling empowered and inspired to be the peacemaker you want to be, and you'll make valuable relationships with your new pink sisters and peace allies.  

We are able to offer the CODEPINK week-long intensive for $250, which includes your housing and leadership programming.  An additional cost of $10 a day for food is due upon arrival to our Pink House Mama, Desiree.  Your fee includes housing at the CODEPINK house, and dynamic trainings and actions with experienced CODEPINK staff and volunteers. If you cannot come for the entire week, we encourage you to apply and let us know what dates you are available to attend.  Limited assistance is available to cover the programming costs for students and low-income changemakers.
