Postcards for Peace

As part of my Christmas festivities I made up 10 packets or envelopes I called "Postcards for Peace". Inside each envelope was a letter from me, a listing of both the Washington DC and local office addresses of my state's congressional delegation plus Sen Reid's, Rep. Nancy Pelosi and The White House; and 10 postal postcards (costs only 26 cents each at the post office!).

My letter to each is as follows:

Postcards for Peace President Bush said that he wants to send 15,000 to 30,000 additional U. S. troops to Iraq. They are talking of 'stop-lossing' those soldiers that are in Iraq no - keeping them longer than their current tour. Some of our soldiers are on their 2nd, 3rd, even 4th rotation. Our representatives in Washington, D.C. have not heard us. The Iraqi people do not want our soldiers there. The Iraqi people have voted. They have written a new constitution. The have selected a Prime Minister (3X!). They have tried, convicted and sentenced Saddam Hussein to death. Our representatives in Wshington D.C. are no listening to the Iraqi people. Our soldiers cannot keep the Iraqi people safe. They cannot even protect each other. They have done all that was asked of them. It is time to bring them home.

Please join me in sending a postcard to each of our representatives and senators. And to Senator Harry Reid. And to Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. Even on to President Bush. Ask them to truly practice Peace on Earth. then I signed my name.
