“Black Gold* and Boots Ball” will feature Hallibacon, the Halliburton mascot, and other war profiteers that expect to make a killing during the second term of the Bush administration.
 
VISUALS:  Political theater featuring dozens of pig-snouted Halliburton, Lockheed Martin, Bechtel, and CACI executives, squealing and rolling around in money to celebrate another four years of war profiteering and corporate favoritism.

WHAT:  On Wednesday, January 19 at 6:30 PM, anti-war profiteering and corporate accountability activists will converge outside the Wardman Park Hotel, where Bush supporters will be partying at the Texas State Society's “Black Tie and Boots” inaugural ball. Co-sponsors of the protest include some of the most creative activist groups in the country: CODEPINK: Women for Peace, Billionaires for Bush, and the Reagan Home for the Criminally Insane.
 
While partygoers are inside the hotel, sipping champagne, activists will be outside, holding a  “Black Gold and Boots” ball “, where they will skewer the war profiteering companies that expect to make a killing during the second term of the Bush administration. The activists' ball will be sponsored by Hallibacon, the mascot of Halliburton, where Vice President Dick Cheney was the former CEO.
 
“Halliburton is the poster child for war profiteering,” said Andrea Buffa of CODEPINK. “The company has made billions off the killing in Iraq, and is ripping off American taxpayers and Iraqis, but they're never held accountable. I'm sure they're partying at one of these inaugural balls, toasting to another four years of profit from war.”
 
 “We love money, we love war. We love Cheney even more!” said Hallibacon Executive Jeff Grubler of the Ronald Reagan Home for the Criminally Insane, as he polished his pig snout in anticipation of Wednesday night's ball.
