Dear Supporter,
Our Stolen Beauty campaign is spreading as more people sign on to boycotting Ahava. There are now Ahava boycott campaigns run by our coalition partners in London, Amsterdam, Paris, and a new one is about to be launched by Tadamon! in Montreal, Canada on Halloween.
We're writing to you today to ask you to join in solidarity with Tadamon! (which means Solidarity! in Arabic), by organizing a Stolen Beauty action for Halloween in your community. In New York City, we're planning to go to Ricky's chain stores; Ricky's carries Ahava in all 21 of its locations, and on Halloween the stores are jammed with young people shopping for costumes - a perfect opportunity for us to show up in costumes and hand out fliers about Ahava.
If you don't have a group to do a protest action, you could deliver a copy of our store manager letter to a retail outlet near you. Email locals@codepinkalert.org to find out where Ahava is sold in your area. Or you could sign up to join our Stolen Beauty online action team, which will be launching in early November.
On October 16-17, CODEPINK participated in the first Global Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions marathon, that called for the release of Palestinian human rights and anti-wall activist Mohammed Othman. There were actions in Canada, the USA, South Africa, Norway, Italy, France, the UK, Japan, Spain, Greece and Palestine. CODEPINK's protest in D.C. is included in the slideshow of the day's actions and you can see video as well.
Thanks so much for being a part of the Stolen Beauty team, and for working towards a just peace for Israelis and Palestinians.
In Justice and Solidarity,
Nancy and CODEPINK's Stolen Beauty Team
