The small Code Pink contingent made an impressive PINK splash during the walk across the bridge with the most expressive outfits and signage to be seen. It was a joyful multi-ethnic mingling of spirited young (and older) women and men. Exotic dancing by a women's group shook the bridge with the message to end violence against women and songs of One Billion Rising. Looking across to the Statue of Liberty, standing tall in the harbor, added to the voices, power and determination of women. |
