Clean the House - DUMP DENNY

October 12, 2006
Chicago Area CODEPINK
Chicago Area, IL

More than a dozen women from Chicago Area CodePINK donned pink housecoats and curlers and equipped with pink brooms, pails, sponges, and ironing board, "cleaned House" in front of Speaker Dennis Hastert's Batavia office.

Capitalizing on the national interest because of Hastert's inaction on the Foley scandal, CACP highlighted the lack of accountability for years of Hastert's dirty deeds as Speaker and as a representative of this Illinois district.

During the House-cleaning, we ironed out "pressing problems" and "aired Denny's dirty laundry," hanging pink slips on a clothesline (with pink clothespins of course!), each slip identifying one of the many misdeeds during Denny's leadership, among them, "Smelly Land Deal," "Protects Predators," and "$$ from Abramoff Clients." PHOTOS COMING SEPARATELY!
