Col. (ret.) Ann Wright: America's Pivot to Asia

Background information on Col. (ret.) Ann Wright:

Ann Wright is a retired United States Army colonel and former U.S. State Department official who had spent 19 years in the military and 16 years in diplomatic service. She received the State Department Award for Heroism in 1997, after helping to evacuate several thousand people during the civil war in Sierra Leone. Known for her outspoken opposition to the Iraq War, Col. Wright resigned her diplomatic position in 2003 in protest of Bush’s pending attack on Iraq, U.S. led sanctions and military action destroying the country and the lives and livelihood of millions.
Wright was a passenger on the Challenger 1, which along with the Mavi Marmara, was part of the Gaza flotilla. She will be part of a global presence in Palestine's Gaza Strip for InternationalWomen’s Day 2014
Col. Wright has been engaged in drone resistance in Pakistan, Afghanistan,Yemen, and Gaza. In 2013, she spoke on U.S. foreign policy issues in Turkey, Egypt, Ireland, Belgium, China, Japan and Korea.
