Dear CODEPINKer,

Eve Ensler famously said: "My vagina's furious and it needs to talk." Our vaginas need to talk, too. They need to talk about the way women's rights are threatened worldwide--from anti-choice legislation to inappropriate rape jokes to economic inequality to war and occupation overseas that disproportionately affect women's lives.

Join CODEPINK and V-Day to bring your vagina to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, FL August 27-30!

Together, we will form a team of women (and vagina-friendly folks) unafraid to speak up for our rights and our lives. We will bring our furious, creative, powerful selves to Republican fundraisers and to the convention hall, where we'll take part in the Coalition March on the RNC and join in anti-war actions.

Will you join us?

Caravan with us to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC September 2-6 to Bust Up Big Banks in Charlotte, North Carolina, dubbed "Wall Street South" because it is home of Bank of America HQ and other financial industry giants. And, come in your billionaire best to expose corporate money in politics with fun street theater – dahling you simply must be there!

The backstory:

In June, during a debate over one of the most restrictive anti-choice bills yet, Michigan state Rep. Lisa Brown read a letter from a voter that concluded with a message for Republican Speaker of the House Jase Bolger:

“Finally Mr. Speaker, I'm flattered that you are all so interested in my vagina, but no means no.”

Bolger promptly barred Rep. Brown from speaking on the House floor the next day. Apparently Michigan Republicans think it's okay to legislate vaginas, but not okay to talk about them. Thousands of women and vagina-supporters gathered at the Michigan capital for a special performance of Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues and a protest rally.

CODEPINK has signed onto
One Billion Rising, the global call from V-Day to stop violence against women and girls.  On Valentine's Day, February 14, 2013, we will walk out of our jobs, classrooms and houses and take to the streets dancing.  Pledge to join here.

Help us encourage Republicans to honor vaginas! Join CODEPINK to protect women's rights and protest war, occupation, and corporate money in politics at many actions throughout the RNC. Let's transform our fury into change.

Go, vagina power!
