Dear CODEPINK activist,

The season of thanks is approaching swiftly, and while many of us have warm homes and families to surround and support us, there are still families from New Orleans who cannot return to their homes and communities. This Thanksgiving, CODEPINK will not only be talking about our vision for a more just society, we will also be doing something about it! The CODEPINK volunteer delegation will be spending the Thanksgiving week working in New Orleans' 9th Ward, in solidarity with local folks, the common Ground Collective and other volunteers from around the country. Each day we will divide into working teams and focus on clean up and rebuilding projects. On Thanksgiving Day we will have a Thank You Feast where the volunteers and returning residents can share their hopes and dreams for this city and our nation.

With this trip we will be providing an opportunity for CODEPINK volunteers to connect with local residents, to learn first hand what happened and what is happening in NO today, and to return to their communities and share their personal experiences.
