Afghanistan War Protest and Rally in Hyde Park |
On a cold October 3rd afternoon in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, Chicago Area CodePINK joined a few hundred people gathered to protest the 8th anniversary of the war in Afghanistan. The theme of "Bring the Troops Home Now" was brought home to the crowd by the speakers, including Juan Torres whose son was killed in Afghanistan.
After the speakers, the crowd marched through Hyde Park. We were greeted by many residents and engaged them in conversation about the Afghanistan war. To our delight, many of them agreed with us. It's time to bring the troops home now!
